Currently researching a PhD in English Literature at the University of Manchester, focusing on the poetry and prose of Iain Sinclair.

- Frankfurt School critical theory, in particular the work of Walter Benjamin
- The British poetry revival of the 1970s
- Literary modernisms
- 20th century avant-gardism in the visual arts, and its legacies
- Representations of urban space in contemporary literature, film and visual art
- The Situationist International and its legacies
